Serious Considerations About the Matchmaking System and the End of Effective Blocking
First of all, I want to make it clear that I agree with many of the points raised regarding the reason behind the changes to the blocking system. I understand that the old model was being abused and negatively impacting matchmaking times, especially in PvP modes like Classic.
However, as someone who plays every single day and has accumulated over 2,000 hours of playtime, I feel the need to raise an issue that is seriously affecting my experience — and I believe many regular players can relate:
The frustration of constantly facing the same players in nearly every match.
With the current system, my daily reality looks like this:

I play one match against a new group, and then get matched against the same squad 10 to 15 more times in a row.

This happens literally every day, and the frequency makes the game feel repetitive and discouraging.

With the removal of effective blocking, I now also encounter multiple players I had previously blocked due to toxicity or negative behavior.

I only see truly new players when certain squads are offline or AFK, which clearly points to a rotation issue in matchmaking.
In fact, just yesterday, my own squad discussed changing the time we play — just to try and get a different experience. That alone should be a clear sign that something is not right with the current system.
My suggestion:
I believe a revision of the matchmaking system could bring great improvements. Something simple like:
“Avoid consecutive rematches against the same players.”
An algorithm that limits you to, say, a maximum of two consecutive matches against the same team or player would go a long way in shuffling opponents and keeping the experience more dynamic, fresh, and enjoyable.
Right now, it feels like I’m playing a high-level ranked mode, stuck at the top of the ladder where I’m constantly matched with the same people. Matchmaking takes 2 to 4 minutes, and it always results in the same names and same patterns. Honestly, this removes the fun and unpredictability the game is supposed to offer.
If needed, I’m more than willing to start keeping track of every squad and player I match against, just to show how circular the system has become for those who play regularly.
